Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants for the fully funded doctoral fellowship in Hong Kong should be new full-time PhD students.
- There is no restriction regarding nationality for this fellowship program.
- The applicants will need to demonstrate that the medium of their university education was English language.
- If the applicant’s previous education was not English language, they will have to provide an English Proficiency Certificate.
- If the applicants are not new PhD students, they can only apply for this fellowship if they are capable of securing admission to another full-time PhD program.
- Lastly, the applicants should select 1 or 2 universities from the available list of 8 universities.
Benefits of Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Program:
- The fellows will be provided by an allowance of HK$331,200 per year for up to 3 years.
- A travel allowance of HK$13,800 will be given to fellows every year for conferences and research-related relocation.
- Work experience is not require for this fellowship.
- The university will provide additional support to fellows if the PhD takes more than 3 years.
- A separate application is not require for the initial fellowship application.
How to apply for a fully funded scholarship in Hong Kong?
- The applicants will need to submit separate applications for both university and fellowship.
- The applicants should apply for the fellowship first and then proceed to apply for the university.
- Applicants need to complete the initial application through the HKPFSES to apply for this fellow program.
- Once the initial application is successfully submitted, applicants will get a reference number.
- When applying for their selected universities, 2 universities and 2 programs based on priority are allowed, applicants must include this reference number in the university application form.
- It’s important to write the reference number because applications without it will be counted separate applications and not for this fellowship.
Each university has its own deadline, so it’s better to fill out the initial application as soon as possible so that you do not miss the university deadline and get the reference number in time.
